Royal Philharmonic 2020 tour news cover

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra has been at the forefront of music-making in the United Kingdom for more than seven decades. With a wider reach than any other UK large ensemble, the RPO has truly become Britain’s national orchestra.

Lead by internationally acclaimed conductor Mark Wigglesworth, the RPO opens its 2020 USA tour on Saturday, January 11th at the State Theatre of New Jersey in New Brunswick. The program includes Walton’s "Portsmouth Point Overture," Sibelius’ "Symphony No.2," and Liszt’s "Piano Concerto No.2" featuring the sensational French-Georgian pianist, Khatia Buniatishvili as soloist.

Israeli-born Pinchas Zukerman also joins the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra as both conductor and violin soloist. One of today’s most sought-after and versatile musicians, he currently serves as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra’s Principal Guest Conductor.
