“The Indigo Girls’ bread and butter, of course, has always been the way their voices blend in harmony. If there’s a better backdrop for that than a symphony orchestra, I don’t know what it is. There were points in the performance that were almost breathtaking, as the horns and strings swelled along with Ray and Saliers’ voices. This was particularly the case in 'Kid Fears,' a song that can haunt and stir no matter the arrangement. But the orchestra took the piece to a higher, chill-inducing level, and the audience responded with a well-deserved ovation.”
