Maestro Christoph König is current Principal Conductor & Music Director of the Solistes Européens Luxembourg and Principal Guest Conductor of the Real Filharmonia de Galicia. He has previously served as Principal Guest Conductor of the Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto Casa da Música from 2009 until 2014.

Celebrated for his clarity, precision, and elegant approach, König is in high demand as a guest conductor in North America and abroad. Since his debut in the US in 2010 he has conducted the Pittsburgh Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Seattle Symphony, Cincinnati Symphony, Oregon Symphony, Milwaukee Symphony, Indianapolis Symphony, Houston Symphony, New Jersey Symphony...

König's most impressive work was in Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 6 ("Pastorale"), which completed the concert. He offered a fresh, sensitive, elegant, and totally unmannered interpretation. Beethoven's full textures were uncommonly well balanced.

The German conductor had the BSO delving into Sibelius Seventh with considerable communicative weight, the strings and brass producing a wonderfully dark, rich tone. The music's unbroken arc... was tautly sustained.
